Ambassador (Mrs) Rachael Adewumi, the leader of the Abuja market women, has issued a heartfelt message to her members as they embark on a new year.

Addressing journalists over the weekend, she emphasized the importance of putting God first in all their dealings, adhering strictly to the law in their business transactions, and supporting the government in power to achieve a common goal of development and unity.

Dr Rachael Adewumi also reminded her members to prioritize the interests of their customers while striving to maximize profits in their buying and selling businesses. This customer-centric approach, she believes, will foster a positive reputation for the market women and promote a loyal customer base.

In addition to her message to members, Adewumi appealed to the government to provide support to women traders in several key areas. She requested that the government consider reducing or eliminating interest on bank loans to traders, which would greatly alleviate the financial burdens faced by many market women.

Furthermore, Adewumi advocated for the direct allocation of market shop spaces to women traders, rather than intermediaries who often rent them out at inflated prices. This, she believes, would empower women traders and promote economic growth within the market community.

As a respected leader and advocate for women’s empowerment, Chief Rachael Adewumi’s message serves as a rallying call for market women to uphold the values of integrity, customer satisfaction, and community development. Her appeal to the government highlights the need for policies that support and empower women traders, promoting economic growth and social progress.
