Meet The New Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide President General… Senator John Azuta Mbata

The apex socio-cultural body for the Igbo people, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, has ushered in a new era of leadership following its successful national elections held at the Old Government Lodge, Abakiliki Road, Enugu.

Senator John Azutal Mbata emerged as the President General, succeeding Nze Ozichukwu. His appointment marks a pivotal chapter in the organization’s mission to strengthen Igbo unity and foster socio-political development.

The newly elected executive team includes:

President General: Senator John Azutal Mbata

Deputy President General: Okey Nwadinobi

Secretary General: Engr Emeka Sibeudu

Deputy Secretary General: Dan Okenyi

Vice Presidents General: Omeife Omeife Jideofor, Chief John Duru, Dr. Ngozi Oleiime, Dr. Peter Mbam, Prof. Fred Eze

National Treasurer: Dr. Peter Chidera Aneke

Assistant National Treasurer: Nnanna Nwakwo

National Financial Secretary: Charles Kalu Nkata

Assistant National Financial Secretary: Jane Nwanga

National Publicity Secretary: Dr. Ezechukwu Ezec

Assistant National Publicity Secretary: Bismarck Orji

National Legal Adviser: Barr Okeagu Ogada

Assistant National Legal Adviser: Barr Chizoba Iheka

Prominent leaders, including governors from Abia, Anambra, Imo, and Enugu states, attended the event to demonstrate their commitment to Igbo unity. The Ebonyi State Governor, represented by his Deputy, also extended his support.

In his acceptance speech, Senator Mbata expressed deep appreciation for the trust placed in him and emphasized his dedication to promoting unity, economic empowerment, and political advocacy for the Igbo people.

The transparent and peaceful nature of the elections has been widely praised, reinforcing the organization’s democratic values. Under its new leadership, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide is poised to further its mission of cultural preservation and advancement for the Igbo nation globally.
