Mojisola Meranda has resigned as the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly.
She resigned on Monday, March 3 at a ongoing plenary session.
She said she had to make the selfless sacrifice to preserve the institution.
In a new twist of events, Mudashiru Obasa was returned as the Speaker of the Assembly same day.

This came after the resignation of Meranda as speaker and re-elected deputy speaker.
Obasa was impeached in February amid corruption allegations.
