Soludo Clinches APGA Ticket Unopposed, Vows Landslide Victory in 2025 Governorship Poll

Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, has emerged as the flagbearer of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) for the November 8, 2025 governorship election, securing the party’s ticket unopposed.

Soludo was overwhelmingly endorsed by 3,168 delegates during a peaceful and well-organized primary election held at the Alex Ekwueme Square, Awka, on Saturday. Out of 3,260 total delegates, 3,175 were accredited, with only four invalid votes recorded.

The Returning Officer, Uche Nwegbo, while declaring the results, said, “With 3,168 yes votes and no dissenting vote, I hereby declare Prof. Chukwuma Soludo as the duly elected candidate of APGA for the 2025 governorship election, in line with INEC guidelines.”

In his acceptance speech, Soludo expressed gratitude for the massive show of support, assuring party members and Ndi Anambra of his continued dedication to service.

“We have built a progressive party that is rooted in the people. Anambra is APGA, and APGA is Anambra,” Soludo declared. “This overwhelming endorsement is humbling. We have only just begun—Anambra has not seen anything yet.”

He also highlighted the achievements of his administration, emphasizing that they were attained without borrowing funds. “We are doing the impossible without borrowing a single Naira. We’re just getting started.”

The governor reiterated his commitment to a landslide victory, boldly stating, “We will win all 21 local governments, all 326 wards, and possibly all polling units. We want to make a statement.”

Soludo also confirmed that his current deputy, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, will remain his running mate for the 2025 race. “If it’s not broken, why mend it?” he said, quoting his 2017 lecture.

With strong support from party delegates, support groups, and ordinary citizens including market women, Soludo appears poised to lead APGA into what could be a historic second-term mandate.
