There is no doubt that the conclusion of primary elections by political parties to elect their flag bearers for the 2025 governorship election in Anambra State has not just shaped the face of the election scheduled to hold on November 8, 2025 into a more clearer view, assessment, opinions and predictions but also generating reactions from the masses across the nooks and crannies in the State who are expressing their opinions on the right choice for the top job at the government house in Awka.

Checks by our correspondents in Awka, Onitsha, Nnewi and other parts of the State show that the candidate of the All Progress Congress (APC) Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu alias Ikukuoma is gathering more momentum with people in the streets, joints, markets and even in the churches apparently rooting for him with some facts that the billionaire businessman from Osumenyi has built a relationship with the people having been in politics for quite a long time and now the best choice for the governorship seat.

According to reliable information gathered from various points of people’s gathering in the cities by our correspondent Ikukuoma is said to be more vibrant and promising in action, more sympathetic and compassionate towards the masses than other candidates mostly the incumbent Governor, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo who is the candidate of All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA).

At Nnewi a current affairs analyst by name Professor Justin Osibe described the APC candidate as “a man of the time” with free mind, charisma and sagacity among other qualities and attributes of a would be great Governor needed at this point in time adding that the Osumenyi Prince and billionaire businessman is good enough all round to take up the mantle of leadership and deal with the challenges facing the people in Anambra State

According to Professor Osibe “Even though Ukachukwu is yet to present his manifesto, he is a better candidate ahead of others based on my personal view and assessment of him as a person that I have known for quite sometime. I am sure he is well loaded in terms what he will do when elected as governor. I am sure he will bring his wealth of experience with wide connections as a high capacity businessman to bear in governance and that is what we want in Anambra State”

At Unizik Junction in Awka the State capital, another current affairs analyst Dr Nnamdi Nwakor believes that Ikukuoma as one of the political gladiators that is not just close to the peoplebut also understands the bad condition of the people adding the APC candidate has come a long way in the politics of Anambra State and consequently he is well ripped to occupy the top seat of the State at the government house in Awka at this point in time.

At the popular news stand in Old Market road Onitsha, a shuttle bus driver who gave his name as Edmund Ojekwe observed that Ikukuoma is seen by many as the best choice for the governorship seat because he will be considerate and sympathetic towards the masses to the benefits of drivers adding that drivers in particular are interested in Ikukuoma because they are suffering in the hands of current administration under Governor Soludo.

According to Ojekwe, “if you ask me who is the best choice, I will point at Ukachukwu because he is very close to the masses and I am sure that he will be at the service of the masses to the benefit of drivers in particular and other in general. This time around things are very difficult and drivers are at the receiving end because we are facing a difficult situation with multiple revenue payment and extortion coupled with high cost of fuel. I believe somebody like Ukachukwu will ameliorate our suffering”
