Abuja

Dr. Obinna Simon, popularly known as MC Tagwaye, the Social Democratic Party (SDP) chairmanship candidate for the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), has vowed to transform the council if elected in the 2026 Area Council election. During a condolence visit on Wednesday to the Idu community in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Tagwaye outlined his vision for progress, social justice, and people-oriented leadership.

Tagwaye emphasized that his approach would differ from the current offerings, focusing on progress, social justice, and people-oriented leadership. When asked about fulfilling promises, he cited his youth and future prospects as motivation to deliver, stressing the importance of intergenerational collaboration and valuing the wisdom and experience of elders.

As a former classroom teacher with over eight years of experience, Tagwaye highlighted his productive tenure, noting that he had produced numerous students, graduates, and even PhD holders. He expressed his motivation to serve the people, citing the community’s dissatisfaction with the current state of affairs.

Tagwaye rejected the notion of “hijacking power,” emphasizing that leadership is earned and given by the people. He recently declared his intention to run at a news conference, outlining his commitments to transforming AMAC and addressing long-standing issues. His promises include more inclusive, progressive, and sustainable governance.

Tagwaye’s vision for AMAC prioritizes the needs of the people, with a focus on delivering tangible results. His campaign promises to bring positive change to the council, and he is seeking the support of the electorate to achieve his goals.

It would be recalled that he had recently declared his intention to run at a news conference in Abuja, outlining his commitments to transforming AMAC and addressing long-standing issues, with promises of more inclusive, progressive, and sustainable governance if elected.
