‎The Aig-Imoukhuede Foundation has partnered with the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF) and the Oil Producers Trade Section (OPTS) to boost policy skills among senior civil servants.

‎

‎The collaboration was unveiled in Abuja at the launch of the second edition of the Federal Civil Service Directors’ Training Programme.

‎

‎The Foundation disclosed this in a statement on Monday.

‎

‎Delivered by Pan-Atlantic University, the programme is designed to equip Federal Civil Service Directors with advanced skills to lead a more effective and citizen-centred government. Unlike the 2024 edition which focused on project management, communication, and leadership, this year’s training zeroes in on effective policy writing and review.

‎

‎Speaking at the ceremony, Director of Programmes at the Foundation, Chioma Njoku, described directors as central to the nation’s policy process.

‎

‎“Directors are the architects of policy within the Civil Service. When they have the tools to develop clear, evidence-based, and people-focused policies, the results are seen in better governance, more efficient service delivery, and tangible improvements in citizens’ lives. This programme is an investment in Nigeria’s future,” she said.

‎

‎The programme will combine practical techniques in policy drafting and review with real-world case studies. Organisers noted that stronger policy skills can translate into transformative outcomes, such as streamlined regulations that boost businesses and health policies that ensure essential supplies reach clinics on time.

‎

‎Vice Chairperson of OPTS HR Subcommittee, Mrs. Eluemuno Olumagin, emphasised the role of the Civil Service in national prosperity.

‎

‎“A strong and efficient Civil Service is the foundation for a stable and prosperous Nigeria. For us in the private sector, this isn’t just a government matter; it directly affects the environment in which we operate, invest, and create jobs.

‎

‎“By funding and partnering on this programme, we are investing in capable public leaders whose strategic decisions can unlock growth, foster stability, and improve life for millions of Nigerians,” she said.

‎

‎The Foundation explained that the initiative is aimed at closing the gap between government intentions and citizens’ realities, while building a Civil Service that is more accountable, responsive, and results-driven.
