Fabulous Minds Women Initiative (FMWI), a dynamic non-profit dedicated to uplifting women and girls, recently hosted an inspiring two-day workshop titled Speak, Shine, and Succeed.
The event was a game-changer, equipping teens with confidence, public speaking skills, and practical entrepreneurial know-how to light up their futures!
The workshop was packed with teen-friendly, interactive sessions led by an all-star lineup of facilitators.
Mrs. Theodora Obayojie, Communication Specialist and Family Therapist, who helped teens conquer stage fright and master confident communication.
Mrs. Romoke Omosehin, Educational Consultant, who shared tips on building self-worth and daily habits for personal growth.
Mrs. Betty Bello, Financial Executive, who inspired teens to embrace their voice and potential.
Mrs. Eguono Okiti, Business Executive and CEO, and Mrs. Rita Chikaodili Nwaneri, Caterer and Director of La Ritz Cakes and Events, taught hands-on skills like liquid soap making, cake baking, puff-puff, and doughnut preparation—complete with branding tips.
The impact was nothing short of incredible! One SS2 student, who initially struggled with stage fright and broke down in tears, transformed overnight. After practicing the confidence-building techniques shared, she boldly stood up and expressed herself with pride. Her heartfelt words captured the magic of the event:
“Thank you to Fabulous Minds NGO for organizing this event. Yesterday, I couldn’t stand before my mates; I embarrassed myself with tears. But I went home and practiced the self-confidence tips. Today, I can now stand and express myself!”
Other teens were buzzing with excitement, eagerly asking, “When’s the next workshop?”
Empowering the Next Generation
FMWI’s President, Mrs. Betty Agunobi, beamed with pride, saying, “This workshop reflects our mission to equip women and girls with thriving skills, foster economic empowerment, and build compassionate leaders. By investing in teens today, we’re shaping a brighter, more inclusive future. We welcome partners and sponsors to join us in this journey!”
The workshop made special highlights on “Confident Communicators: Teens learned to overcome fear and speak with poise.
Entrepreneurial Edge: Hands-on training in soap and pastry-making sparked business creativity.
“Empowered Futures: FMWI’s program gave teens tools to excel personally, academically, and professionally”.
Building on their earlier success, including a March collaboration with the Institute of Peace and Conflict Resolution to strengthen family unity, FMWI continues to transform lives with heart and purpose. The Speak, Shine, and Succeed workshop is proof that when teens are given the right tools, they can truly shine!
