As the good people of Enugu North Senatorial District also known as Nsukka cultural zone begin to look forward at Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to release the time table for election of a new Senator that will replace late Senator Okey Ezea, some stakeholders have sent a message to political parties to avoid nominating and imposing inexperienced candidate on the people for the election.
Our correspondent in Nsukka reports that stakeholders sent the message following report that political godfathers are making move to nominate a sitting local government Chairman as candidate of All Progressive Congress (APC) for the election. One of the stakeholders told our correspondent that fellers have it that political praise singers are already linking the said local Chairman as the one likely going to emerge as the candidate of APC and the Chairman is yet to deny it.

Political pundits warn that the good people of Nsukka Senatorial zone should beware of inexperienced candidate going to represent them in the Senate considering the enomous challenges facing the zone. A current affairs analyst Dr Jones Ugwuodo cautioned that Senate as a highly exalted chamber of national power where dividends of democracy are derived is meant for people that are exposed and experienced enough in the national affairs not new comers operating at the local stage.
According to Dr Ugwuodo, “Senate is for men of timber and caliber, technocrats, captains of industries, business tycoon, academia, and diplomats not for beginners at local level. Ordinarily the issue of an acceptable candidate who is exposed and experienced enough shouldn’t be a problem to Nsukka zone because we have more than enough of them. Take for instance, we have Professor Osita Ogbu, Dr Pat Asadu, Amb. Simon Ejike Eze and Ikeje Asogwa among others.
“What we are saying, is that as we look forward to the bye to replace late Senator Okey Ezea, political parties should be ready to present candidates who are capable to go there in the chamber of the Senate and attract dividends of democracy to develop Nsukka zone.
