Nigeria’s growing use of drone technology in security, energy infrastructure monitoring and mapping is set to expand following a new partnership between ARCO Worldwide Services Limited and DJI Enterprise, the global leader in civilian drone technology.

In a statement made available to newsmen in Abuja weekend, ARCO Worldwide announced that it has become Nigeria’s first authorised reseller of DJI Enterprise solutions, a development the company described as a major milestone for the country’s evolving drone ecosystem. The partnership is expected to accelerate the deployment of advanced aerial surveillance and mapping technologies across key sectors of the Nigerian economy.

Under the arrangement, ARCO Worldwide will serve as a central hub for the supply and support of DJI’s enterprise-grade drone platforms, including the Matrice and Mavic series, which are widely used globally for industrial, security and public safety operations.

The company said the collaboration would enable government agencies and private sector operators to access world-class drone technology that can support border surveillance, infrastructure protection and high-precision mapping.

According to ARCO Worldwide, the technology could play a significant role in addressing persistent challenges such as oil pipeline vandalism, crude theft and border monitoring, while also improving operational intelligence for sectors like construction and agriculture.

Managing Director of ARCO Worldwide, Okosubide Mozimo, described the partnership as a defining moment for both the company and Nigeria’s drone industry.

“This partnership with DJI Enterprise marks a defining milestone for our company and for the Nigerian drone ecosystem as a whole,” Mozimo said. “We are proud to lead and set the precedent for a rapidly growing economy.”

ARCO Worldwide is a subsidiary of ARCO Group Plc and operates as an indigenous drone services provider with regulatory approvals from both the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority and the Office of the National Security Adviser.

The company said these certifications position it among the few Nigerian firms authorised to operate drone technology within strict aviation and national security frameworks.

Chief Operating Officer of ARCO Worldwide, Ann Temidara, said the new partnership would ensure that organisations purchasing drone systems receive fully compliant and certified equipment.

“We are removing the risk from the equation,” she explained. “When an agency buys from us, they aren’t just getting a box; they are getting manufacturer warranties, certified maintenance, and the assurance that their equipment is genuine and compliant with Nigerian law.”

Officials said securing the reseller status followed a rigorous vetting process by DJI Enterprise to ensure that ARCO Worldwide met global standards for distribution, technical support and regulatory compliance.

Business Development Executive at ARCO Worldwide, David Ofoluwa, noted that the partnership was part of a deliberate strategy to make advanced drone technologies more accessible in Nigeria.

“Being the first DJI Enterprise partner in Nigeria is the result of a focused effort to streamline access to world-class drone technology in a compliant and supported way,” Ofoluwa said.

With the agreement now in effect, ARCO Worldwide will offer a range of DJI Enterprise products in Nigeria, including the Matrice 350 and 400 RTK platforms, DJI Dock 3 automated drone stations, and the Mavic 3 Enterprise series.

Industry analysts say the deployment of such technologies could significantly enhance aerial monitoring capabilities in Nigeria, particularly in oil and gas pipeline surveillance, disaster response operations, border security and infrastructure inspections.

As Nigeria continues to adopt digital and aerial technologies to address security and operational challenges, stakeholders believe the partnership could strengthen the country’s capacity to deploy advanced drone systems in a regulated and coordinated manner.
