Miffed by the tough time facing Nigerians as a result of economic hardship, a clerical group known as Nigeria Ministers Project (NMP) has engaged mothers on prayer to protect the children against crime.

In her address, the Convener and President of the group Chief Apostle Fidel Chimezie blamed the predicament of the children to bad governance on the side of government, ilitracy and poverty on the side of parents, poor quality education and lack of access for help to engage in subsistence activities.

Chimezie noted that the time for mothers to take the children to God and ask God to do something for Nigerian children.

She added ‘Our children are suffering as a result of bad governance, poverty, lack of good quality teaching in the school with some secondary school student not able to read and write letter and lack of access to people who can help them start something doing.

Some of them don’t even have a capable parents or relation that can help them pay school fees. That’s why some of them take to crime of kidnapping and ritual killing (yahoo yahoo) to make money. That’s why we are crying to God”

She charged mothers to wake up and be hardworking in prayer and ensure that children are well nurtured in the ways of God telling them that motherhood is work not merry. “Motherhood is about work. I married at the age of 17, so I am in a better position to tell you about motherhood. You have to be prayerful and hardworking to be able to build your family and make a good family more especially being close to God in prayer”

She called on people that are well to do including the wife of the governor of Anambra State, Dr Nonye Soludo to support the program of the NMP particularly helping mothers with materials that can empower them to be stronger in facing the challenges of child upbringing and family building.

Also speaking, Evangelist Ebele Obimma told the audience that children are pride of the family and thus should not be allowed to be of bad behavior. Obimma reeled out a number of prayer points to draw the attention of God to cap it all for the program.
