There was jubilation in Anambra, the Light of the Nation State on Sunday following the relaunching of operations by a pro people cum charity and mass mobilization group known as Oga Ndi Oga Foundation. The Foundation which started operation yesterday with a meeting of 21 local government coordinators and 21 women leaders from the 21 local government areas in Anambra State held at the commercial city of Nnewi quickly set a target to mobilize 1million membership within the next six months.

Expectedly, the founder/CEO of the Foundation High Chief Godwin Agbasimelo simply stole the show as the coordinators endlessly showered him with songs of praises describing him as arguably the most pro people minded and philanthropic human being in Anambra State at the moment assuring that they will live up to expectations in ensuring that the target of the Foundation will be achieved without hitches.

One of the coordinators Princes Ngozi Obi who opened the floodgate of speeches with songs of praises to God and the Founder pointed out that the meeting of the coordinators and women leaders is meant to kick start a new brand and rejuvenated Oga Ndi Oga Foundation that will serve as a platform for the people mostly in urban and rural areas to air their views and opinion adding that the Foundation is set to bridge the gap between the masses mostly the grassroots and governance in Anambra State.

Princess Obi who explained that the membership of the Foundation is free of charge, told the coordinators and women leaders that the Foundation does not have a Director General or leaders at the State level for now, thus the Foundation is banking on them to work hard in reaching out to the people in urban and rural areas with the message of hope that they now have a platform to air their view and opinion as well as seek a favorable stand on issues of governance in the State.

“We are being neglected and deprived of opportunities because we don’t have a platform to air our views and opinion and showcase our gifts and talents. Some of us are well qualified to be SAs to governors, ward councilors and superiors at the local government but we don’t have that opportunity because nobody is speaking for us and we cannot speak for ourselves, so this Foundation has done us a good favor by providing us the chance to air our views and opinion and of course show our gifts and talents and thanks should to High Chief Agbasilmeo” she added

Corroborating the Princess, another speaker Mr Paul Nnabuife told the coordinators and women leaders that it is a new begging entirely and what is needed most to move the Foundation forward is a transparent and accountable service adding that any coordinator who is not ready to give what is due for others is indulging in fraudulent act that is not in tune with the spirit of the Foundation and such act won’t be tolerated at all.

Nnabuife told the audience that the Foundation is not a political party and not asscoiated with any political party for now adding that anybody coming in as a member should distance his or herself from political parties. He cuationed that anybody holding a position in any political party is not qualified to be admitted as a member of Oga Ndi Oga Foundation.

He added “what we have now, is a new brand and rejuvenated Oga Ndi Oga Foundation, therefore we should do away with things that hindered our progress, we should have to work with truth, to be honest and ensure a transparent and accountable service for the progress of this Foundation. If you are giving items to give others make sure that you make the items available to those that suppose to have it. Don’t be fraudulent because we are not going to tolerate such act anymore”

Several other speakers suggested that members particularly the coordinators at the local government and ward levels should be compelled to an agreement in concrete terms and in traditional way to ensure that truth and honesty, transparency and accountability are prevalent in the affairs of the Foundation noting that the one million membership cannot be achieved without people being truthful, honest, transparent and accountable while serving as coordinators and mobilizers at all levels.

In his goodwill message a chieftain of Labour Party in Nnewi who was also a member of Labour Party Presidential Campaign Council Prince Austine Onyekaba alias Otumba told the audience that Oga Ndi Oga is an opportunity made available for them to utilize an improve on their career mostly in political terms and in governance in Anambra in general urging them to make the one million membership drive a reality.
