NYSC Yobe State Coordinator, Mrs. Hafsat Yerima, sternly warned recently deployed 2023 Batch ‘B’ Stream II prospective corps members (PCMs) about the NYSC’s firm stance on discipline.
Addressing PCMs at Dazigau Orientation Camp, Yerima emphasized zero tolerance for indiscipline, with clear consequences for any violations.
In her address, Yerima commended PCMs on their educational achievements that qualified them for the one-year mandatory Youth Service deployment. She particularly acknowledged those who self-funded their education.
Stressing regimentation of camp activities, Mrs.Yerima explained further that the life on camp is regimented and all camp activities are compulsory. She highlighted the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurial Development (SAED) program’s significance, emphasizing the need to choose and master a skill in camp and post-camp training and the importance of self-reliance.
Clarifying that all NYSC’s services are free, Mrs.Yerima cautioned against bribery and falling victims to extortion under any guise. She stressed discipline’s core value, asserting, “We do not tolerate any form of indiscipline and I as a person have zero tolerance for indiscipline” Yerima also elaborated on the four-cardinal programs of the NYSC and stressing their importance in shaping the service year.
The State Coordinator concluded by encouraging PCMs to embrace their camp experience and year of service. Prospective Corps Member Nana Hauwa Umar with state code YB/23B/1473 extended a note of gratitude to the State Coordinator on behalf of all Batch ‘B’ Stream II PCMs.
A delightful moment came during her exit from the event hall as Yerima joined PCMs in a brief dance, symbolizing camaraderie and enthusiasm that defined the event.
