As the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Omas Group of Companies, comprising Omas World of Glamour Ltd, Omas Studio Ltd, and Omas Multimedia Ltd, among others, Dr. Ezeike has established a strong presence in Nigeria, with head offices in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, and other offices in Lekki, Lagos State, and Gwarinpa, Abuja. Her business empire is a testament to her innovative spirit and commitment to excellence.

However, Dr. Ezeike’s impact extends far beyond the business world. As the founder of the Omas Foundation for Hope (OFH), a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), she has dedicated herself to providing critical support to vulnerable communities. The OFH focuses on delivering free medical services to rural communities, education for underprivileged children and young people, social development initiatives, women’s empowerment programs, and skills acquisition training for youth employment. Our Senior Correspondent, Abbanobi-Eku Onyekachi, shares excerpts from Dr. Ezeike’s inspiring story.

As the world celebrated International Mothering Sunday (IMS) on March 30, 2025, Dr. (Mrs.) Joy Ezeike, a renowned entrepreneur and philanthropist, embodied the spirit of motherhood. With the theme “Beauty of Motherhood,” this special day highlighted the essence of motherhood and the vital role mothers play in families, society, and nation-building.

She advises mothers to prioritize self-care, seek help when needed, and celebrate their achievements. She emphasizes the importance of passion, integrity, and dedication in overcoming challenges and achieving successes.

With the firm belief that fathers play a crucial role in supporting mothers, Dr. Ezeike encourages fathers to offer emotional support, share responsibilities, and express gratitude for all that mothers do. By doing so, she goes on, fathers can help create a more supportive and nurturing environment for mothers to thrive.

On government support for mothers, she stated that governments can promote the well-being of mothers by implementing family-friendly policies, providing access to quality healthcare, and promoting education and economic empowerment programs. Dr. Ezeike stresses the need for governments to recognize the value of mothers’ contributions to society and provide adequate support.

On international recognition and support, said that the United Nations and other international organizations are urged to promote maternal health and well-being globally, advance women’s empowerment, and celebrate mothers worldwide. By acknowledging and supporting mothers, according to her, “we can foster a more compassionate and equitable society.”

As we celebrate International Mother’s Sunday, Dr. Joy Ezeike’s remarkable story serves as a reminder of the incredible contributions mothers make to their families, communities, and the world at large. Her legacy is a shining example of the beauty, strength, and resilience of motherhood.
