— Says Only Gov Uzodinma Is Authorized To Declare The Result

The All Progressives Congress (APC) National Working Committee (NWC) has issued a disclaimer to what is said is an unauthorized announcement on national television stations of the result of the Edo State gubernatorial primary election held in Benin City.

Contradictory reports from Binin seem to suggest that two different names were announced as candidate of the party.

However ,the party through its National Publicity Secretary, Barr Felix Morka said the party would not accept results or declaration from unauthorized persons .

Morka in a statement maintained only the Chairman of the Primary Election Committee, Senator Hope Uzodinma is the one duly authorized to undertake final collation and announcement of the final result.
The statement reads

“The attention of the National Working Committee of our great Party has been drawn to a live broadcast on major national television stations and online news outlets of results of the ongoing Edo State APC Governorship Primary Election by some unauthorized persons

“We wish to state categorically that only the Governor Hope Uzodinma-Led Edo State APC Governorship Primary Election Committee is duly authorized to undertake final collation and announcement of results of the Primary Election in the State.

“We urge all Party members, officials in the State, and the general public to disregard the said announcement of results by these unauthorized persons”.
