The former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has condemned the current crop of state governors for condoning the leadership style of President Bola Tinubu.

Speaking at the book launch of Sule Lamido, a former governor of Jigawa State, Amaechi said his colleagues who served as governors during the administration of ex-president Goodluck Jonathan would not have tolerated the reforms implemented by the current administration.

Amaechi, while addressing Lamido, said, “I asked you this morning, what is going on currently now in Nigerian politics, could it have happened at the time when we were governors, and the answer is, no!

“And you said no. We would confront the government, we would confront the president, you know that.

“That’s how radical you were, that’s how radical our Governors’ Forum was. That’s how determined we were to change things,” Amaechi stated.

He further appreciated the former Jigawa governor for his guidance during his time as the chairman of the Governors’ Forum.

“I thank you for the fact that you spurred a lot of my decisions as Governors’ Forum chairman. Because he’s? You are radical, even though you thought you were not as radical as we were.

“But we’ve discussed Nigeria in detail, and we thought we should move forward as a country,” he added.
