The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Education Resource Centre (ERC) has launched a five-day intensive training program for secondary school teachers to promote entrepreneurship education in FCT schools.
The program aligns with the new curriculum released by the Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council (NERDC) and focuses on fostering an entrepreneurship mindset among learners.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, FCT Education Secretary’s Dr. Danlami Hayyo, emphasized that the training is a collective journey to reshape entrepreneurship education for a rapidly evolving world.
He highlighted the importance of inclusion, innovation, and empowerment in entrepreneurship education, stating that every learner deserves an equal opportunity to become an innovator, creator, leader, and job-builder.
The training program features practical exercises, real-world case studies, group collaboration, and interactive activities designed to equip teachers with the competencies needed to nurture innovative, self-reliant, and future-ready learners.
The program is a collaboration between the FCT ERC, UNESCO, and CEBAR, and is part of efforts to strengthen teachers’ capacity in delivering inclusive and innovative entrepreneurship education.
