About 37 newly promoted senior officers have been decorated with new ranks in the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Academy as well as Command and Staff College in Udi, Enugu State.

Speaking to the newly decorated officers on Saturday, Mr Joseph Udoabba, acting Commandant of FRSC Academy, Udi, urged the officers to redouble their efforts and live up to expectations of the FRSC management.

Udoabba said that “the reward for hard work is more work” and “to whom much is given, more is expected”.

According to him, you must put in the necessary dedication and hard work to justify your recent promotion as it comes with higher responsibilities.

“We thank God Almighty for this faithful day and the grace to have such a number of senior officers being promoted at the same time.

“I commend the Corps Marshal, Mr Dauda Biu, and the FRSC board for grant the two institutions here such a large number of officers being promoted at a period.

“We must work hard as a team to push forward and ensure we deliver on the mandate of the Corps,” he said.

Udoabba also urged those still anticipating promotion to keep hope alive and continue to put in the hard work “as it will not be along it will manifest though the grace of God’’.

Speaking, Navy Commodore Benson Onukwuru (retired), a Consultant Chief Instructor, FRSC Command and Staff College, said that promotion comes from only God and those promoted should be humble and sober about it.

Onukwuru urged the newly promoted officers to make “positive mentorship their watchword”, adding that the “junior ranking officers and men of the Corps are looking up to you to properly guide and mentor them”.

“You must mentor as well as discipline those under you with love by showing positive and exemplary life-style during duty and off duty,” he advised.

Responding, Corps Commander Felix Afoke, one of the newly decorated senior officers, assured the Corps Marshal and the FRSC board that the newly promoted and decorated officers would redouble their efforts.

Afoke, who spoke on behalf of other decorated officers, appreciated the FRSC board, Corps Marshal and heads of the institutions in Udi for the confidence reposed on them to wear the new ranks.

“We will continue to uplift the ideals of the FRSC and ensure that Corps achieve its mandate even as we have resolved to be focused and highly productive,” he said.

Six Deputy Corps Commanders (DCC), who were recently promoted, were decorated to Corps Commander (CC) ranks; while one Assistant Corps Commander, recently promoted, got decorated to Deputy Corps Commander (DCC) rank.

12 Senior Route Chiefs (SRC) were decorated to the rank of Core Route Chiefs (CRC) and 10 Route Chiefs (RC) were decorated to the rank of Senior Route Chiefs (SRC).

Two Deputy Route Chiefs (DRC) were decorated to the rank Route Chief (RC) and six Assistant Route Chiefs (ARC) were decorated to the rank of Deputy Route Chief (DRC).
