Goods Transporters Association elects new leaders

In line with their constitution, members of Dei Dei in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Chapterof Goods Transporters Association (GTA) has on Wednesday elected new leaders to be running the affairs of the organization.

The election which was peaceful had the following members elected into different positions.

The positions of chairman, vice chairman, secretary, financial secretary went to Peter Eneh, Ogechukwu Ezennaya, Ignatius Ezeugwu and Alex Eze respectively. The positions of provost and treasurer went to Okwudili Ike and Ikechukwu Nwokocha respectively.

Accepting the leadership positions on behalf of the newly elected leaders, the newly elected chairman, Mr Ene promised to: improve upon the work of the former leaders, harmonize the garage, take proper welfares of the members, defend and protect the union effectively and maintain law, order and work with the government, so as to achieve common aims and objectives of the government. He reiteratedly assured the government of his union’s unalloyed obedience, especially in total submission to the law.

Hailing the government in power for performance, as well as appealing to those in authority to develop their garage and its environs, for the result to be ease of doing business, Eneh however called on the government to always come to their defense, whenever the need arises.

Declaring that there is no winner or vanquished in his leadership, the chairman therefore called on all, including those he contested with to join the new leadership to move the association forward, even as he advised members to always put God first in everything, which if done, according to him will go a long way.
