The Bauchi Good Governance Monitoring Group (GGMG) has commended the First Lady of Bauchi State, Hajiya Aisha Bala Mohammed, for renovation of Special Education Centre in Yelwa as well as improving the standard of education in the State through capacity building of teachers.
A statement on Sunday issued by Sani Lawal Ningi, Chairman, Bauchi Good Governance Monitoring Group, thanked the wife of the State Governor for initiating various programmes and interventions designed to improve education in the State.
Ningi explained that education is widely regarded as the cornerstone of societal development, adding that the significance of its improvement cannot be overstated.
The Group said Hajiya Aisha Bala Mohammed has been in the forefront of driving progress in education in Bauchi State, while acknowledging special recognition given to her recent act of renovating the Special Education Centre in Yelwa.
According to Ningi, “Hajiya Aisha’s commitment to education in Bauchi State is evident through her numerous initiatives.
“The renovation of the Special Education Centre in Yelwa is just one example of her dedication to improving educational facilities.
“This act not only demonstrates her concern for the welfare of students with special needs but also showcases her understanding of the importance of inclusive education.”
The Group further observed Hajiya Aisha’s consistent efforts in education development in Bauchi State, noting her advocacy for increased access to quality education for all children, regardless of their socio-economic background.
“Through her initiatives, she has provided scholarships to deserving students, ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder their educational pursuits.
“This approach not only promotes equal opportunities but also encourages academic excellence among the youth.
“In addition to her focus on infrastructure and scholarships, Hajiya Aisha has also prioritised teacher training and capacity building.
“Recognising that teachers play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the nation, she has organised workshops and seminars to enhance their skills and knowledge.
“By investing in the professional development of educators, she is indirectly investing in the quality of education provided to students in Bauchi State,” the Group said.
The Group who acknowledged the far-reaching impact of Hajiya Aisha’s interventions in education, added that through the renovation of the Special Education Centre in Yelwa, the first lady in Bauchi State has created an enabling environment for students with special needs to thrive.
“This act of inclusivity not only fosters a sense of belonging but also empowers these students to reach their full potential.
“Moreover, her scholarships have opened doors for underprivileged students, enabling them to pursue higher education and break the cycle of poverty.
“Hajiya Aisha’s commitment to improving education in Bauchi State is commendable,” Ningi said.
