Amb. Peter Orobor Foundation and others from Edo, have declared their support for Asue Ighodalo, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in the Edo election, describing him as the `best fit’ and “most competent’’.

Dr Peter Orobor, President of the Foundation, made this known in Abuja, at an event to declare support for Ighodalo with the theme` `Building a Consensus for Continuity, Sustainable Growth and Development in Edo State`Asue Ighodalo is the Answer’’.

Orobor said that supporting Ighodalo to become the next governor of the state would not only transform the state, but would ensure continuity for the work of Gov. Godwin Obaseki’s administration that enabled a rapid technical growth in almost all sector of the economy.

He said that Obaseki’s administration brought massive development to both the rural and urban area of the state.

He said infrastructural development was visible, while unemployment dropped drastically and the educational sector set a positive pathway for others to follow.

He said that the Foundation and other well-meaning people consulted with stakeholders both within and outside Edo on the need to get a trustworthy and reliable person to succeed the outgoing governor.

“ Someone with a positive track record and impeccable character and in our search for that person, we found no other than Dr Asue Ighodalo of PDP.

“He is a man with tremendous achievements. A man who has managed both men and resources very well and has managed companies and organisations both home and abroad with records of efficiency and effectiveness.

“ This is a man who was part of the administration of Adams Oshiomohle and also one of the economic advisers to Gov. Obaseki and the Chairman of the Edo Alaghodaro Summit. He is a man who knows Edo and it’s runnings in totality.

“Who else can be better than this man. He stands better than any other candidate or aspirant in the race. That is why we have resolved to support him in all ramification.’’

Orobor therefore, called on all Edo people to support and vote for Ighodalo of PDP come Edo 2024 gubernatorial election.

The Chairman of the Occasion, Elder Godwin Aghahowa. CSP(rtd), said that the country was currently facing some difficult times and it was necessary for all hands to be on deck to address it and give no room for complaints.

Aghahowa said this has presented the Edo people with the apt opportunity to proactively select a leader that would help the state in such a time.

“Supporting Ighodalo is going to be a continuous project that will lead to victory for the people of Edo state and for the nation.

“Edo state has been known to be on top from the beginning and the Ighodalo’s project will evidently transform the state because he is a good product that has been in the system.

“I urge Edo people to be ambassadors of this government for continuity so as to cancel the challenge of project abandonment due to change of government.’’

Mrs Edith Imoisili, Assistant Director, Edo State Liaison Office Abuja, appealed to the women of Edo to take advantage of their population to vote Ighodalo into office.

Imoisili encouraged women not to be deterred by the current situation of the country to sell their votes but they should pursue continuity to reap the benefit of the good things Obaseki did.

Mr Odion Emonyon, President, Edo State Legacy Association Abuja Branch, called on Edo people not to allow politicians have their way to destroy the state but join hands together to elect the best leader for the state.

“My message for our teaming youth in Edo is that they should look at the future, they should not look at material things, but look at what each political party has for them, then make their decision based on it.(NAN)
