Locals of Kaura Namoda Local Government Area, Zamfara State, have commended the Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Matawalle, for his role in the recent military operation that led to the elimination of over 50 bandits terrorising the region.

Barely a week a successful offensive was carried out by troops of the Joint Task Force, Operation Fasan Yamma, under the 1 Brigade Mobile Strike Teams.

The operation targeted identified terrorist hideouts west of Kaura Namoda (Daji Yamma) and resulted in a significant blow against criminal elements in the area.

In a statement signed by the community spokesperson, Suleiman Yusuf, residents expressed gratitude to Matawalle for his commitment to restoring security.

They described the operation as a major relief after years of relentless attacks by armed groups.

“We, the residents of Kaura Namoda, express our deep gratitude for the improved security situation. We can now live without fear and resume our daily activities with a renewed sense of safety,” Yusuf stated.

The military operation, backed by precision airstrikes, targeted a gathering of armed bandits, successfully neutralising over 50 criminals while injuring several others.

In a separate operation in Tsafe Local Government Area, security forces tracked and eliminated a notorious bandit leader, Shehu Dan Kwale, further bolstering the fight against insecurity in Zamfara State.

Residents of Kaura Namoda, Tsafe, and Gusau LGAs have widely welcomed the military’s intensified crackdown, expressing optimism that sustained efforts will bring lasting peace to the region.
