All Progressives Congress stalwart, Dr. Iliyasu Musa Kwankwaso on Sunday cautioned Senators of Northern extraction to refrain from actions or inaction that would derailed President Tinubu Renewed Hope Agenda.

Addressing newsmen in Kano on Sunday, the APC Chieftain explained that dissipating energy on an alleged padding of the 2024 budget is counter productive, stressing that it has the potential to cause disunity in the 10th Assembly which in essence would truncate Tinubu’s administration efforts at rebuilding a viable country.

The former Kano Commissioner for Rural Development said that the Presidency of Bola Ahmed Tibubu meant well for the 19 northern states and has no axe to grind against the region.

Dr Kwankwaso, said to the “dwelling on Budget padding will only serve as a distraction to the performances of the 10th Assembly and the Executives, and wish to challenge the Mp’s to do more in bringing issues like security, poverty,
unemployment, decay in Industrial development as their subjects of pressure at the chambers.

The APC stalwart, however blamed State Governor’s for spreading poverty in the land, adding that fat allocations from the federation account could not be justified.

He enjoined Governors to emulate the immediate past governor of Kano state, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje who during his tenure recieved N10 billion to N12 billions monthly Federation Accounts, and out of this amount paid salary of over N8 billion, and still takes care of so many other responsibilities.

According to him “now Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, is receiving over N20 billion but while still paying the same N8 billion as salary to workers but go and see level of poverty in the State”.

He further disclosed that the federal government recently approved N2 billion to States, while another sum.of N3 billion was given as loan to cushioned the effect of fuel subsidy.

Kwankwaso plead that, ” We should give the present government of President Tinubu, time to tackled myriads of problems facing Nigeria, I’m assuring you that with concerted efforts Nigerians the nations would get to the promised land”.
