The OYSIEC Chairman, who noted that complaints about late arrival of election materials at some polling units have been addressed, assured the people of Oyo state that their votes would count.

“I am very glad everywhere is calm, there was no violence, we have addressed all concerns about late arrival of election materials at some polling stations.” Olagunju said.

He appealed to the electorate to exercise their franchise by voting the candidate of their choices.

The Commissioner of Police in Oyo State, Mr. Adebola Hamzat stressed that the collaborative efforts of security agencies have paid off as the election is ongoing under peaceful atmosphere, adding that minor skirmishes from the hinterlands were being addressed.

Mr. Hamzat urged the people to come out to vote and elect their choice candidates as representatives in government.

“We have deployed enough security personnel, our people would see them everywhere. There is no cause for alarm, so far so good.”
