The leader of Liberian Delegation to the Community Parliament of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), and the Senator representing Bomi County, at the Liberian Parliament, Sen. Edwin Melvin Snowe, Jr
has returned to the National Patriotic Party, after years of abstinence from party politics.

Snowe’s decision to return to the party after winning series of elections as an independent candidate is contained in his official correspondence to the party leadership for reaffirmation.

Snowe Jr, expressed admiration for the courage and steadfastness of all the stalwarts of National Patriotic Party, hence his renewed interest to return to the party.

According to Snowe Jr, “I write to formally request the reaffirmation of my membership with the National Patriotic Party (NPP). As you are all aware, I am a founding member of the National Patriotic Party, who actively played a major role in the party’s election to the presidency in 1997. And also, served as the first National Chairman of the National Patriotic Youth Council (NPYC). It will interest you to note that while, serving the party over those years, I held firmly to principles and values of the institution and espoused the party’s vision for better Liberia, where “above all else,” the dignity of the people would be held in the highest regard.

“However, during the period of our political transition, I stepped aside from party politics and contested as an independent candidate in the 2005 and 2011 elections and also contested on the Unity Party ticket in 2017. Three years later, I, contested as an independent candidate and currently serve as Senator of Bomi County as an Independent Legislator. Notwithstanding, during these political transitions, I have closely followed the activities of the NPP and have recorded great admiration for the courage and steadfastness of all its stalwarts”.

In conclusion, Sen Snowe Jr request the Chairman and Members of Executive Committee, that his application for membership renewal in the National Patriotic Party be considered favorably.
