The LightRay! Literary Festival, in collaboration with Sprezzatura Publishing, will host a book presentation as part of its ongoing efforts to promote leadership, resilience, and literary appreciation among young Nigerians.
This is contained in a statement issued in Abuja on Tuesday by Ejiro Umukoro, Director of the LightRay! Literary Festival.
Umukoro, a bestselling author of the mental health-themed novel Distortion, said the featured book, Principles for Greatness: Lessons for Today’s Youth, chronicled the inspiring journey of former Chief of Army Staff, (Retired) Lt.-Gen. Tukur Buratai.
Authored by renowned scholar and security expert, Dr Mohammed Abubakar, the book highlighted lessons in courage, integrity, and leadership tailored for today’s generation.
“We are thrilled to partner with Sprezzatura Publishing to bring this inspiring story to life.
“This is not just about launching a book, it’s about offering a platform for young minds to engage deeply with values, vision, and purposeful living.”
She added that the event also served as an opportunity for parents to bond with their children through literature and for teenagers to gain life-changing insights to help guide their future paths.
The event will be chaired by Amb. Yusuf Mamman, Nigeria’s former envoy to Spain and the Vatican, with (Retired) Lt.-Gen. Lamidi Adeosun delivering the keynote address.
Other notable attendees include the Royal Father of the Day, HRH Alhaji Ahmadu Aliyu, and the book reviewer, Dr Etta Peters.
To encourage youth participation, Umukoro announced that the first 100 teenagers and students to arrive at the venue would receive special gifts.
“The programme is specifically tailored to attract teenagers, university students, and parents eager to expose their wards to positive role models and practical life lessons.
“At LightRay! Media, we understand the correlation between reading and success.
“While AI and technology have revolutionised storytelling, the originality of an idea still springs from creative minds,” she noted.
Umukoro emphasised that the event would not only honour Buratai’s contributions to national service but also celebrate the power of storytelling to shape a new generation.
According to Abubakar, author of Principles for Greatness, Buratai led the Nigerian Army from 2015 to 2021 and is celebrated for reforms that enhanced operational effectiveness and soldier welfare.
“His leadership style, defined by strategic foresight and inclusivity, provides rich material for educational engagement,”Abubakar added. (NAN)
