The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), has commended the Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPCL, Mele Kyari, for his exemplary leadership and unwavering dedication to advancing Nigeria’s oil and gas industry.

The President of NANS, Comrade Lucky Emonefe disclosed this in a statement made available to newsmen in Abuja on Sunday.

He said the recent release of NNPCL’s 2023 Audited Financial Statement, highlighting a remarkable asset growth of 322% to N246.8 trillion, was a strong testament to his visionary leadership and strategic foresight.

“Under Kyari’s astute leadership, NNPC Ltd. has consistently demonstrated a firm commitment to transparency, accountability, and operational resilience, culminating in the company’s impressive financial performance.

“The significant increase in assets, along with a pre-tax profit of N5.98 trillion and a net profit of N3.29 trillion, clearly indicates the company’s steady progress toward achieving its strategic objectives.

“While we celebrate NNPCL’s achievements, we also urge Nigerians to exercise patience and understanding with the administration of President Bola Tinubu, GCFR, as it tackles the complexities of economic recovery and growth.

“The recent removal of fuel subsidies, though challenging, is a necessary step toward economic sustainability and growth,” he said.

Emonefe said this bold decision would redirect resources into critical sectors, drive economic diversification, and create opportunities for all Nigerians.

“We acknowledge the initial difficulties brought about by the subsidy removal but are confident that the long-term benefits will far outweigh the temporary challenges.

“The Renewed Hope Agenda, led by President Tinubu, is a comprehensive plan aimed at revitalising our economy, creating jobs, and improving living standards.

“We assure Nigerians that this administration is fully committed to the well-being and prosperity of all citizens,” he added.
