The Nasarawa State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Lafia on Thursday reserved Judgment in the Petition filed by Dr. David Ombugadu against the declaration and return of governor Abdullahi Sule as the Governor of Nasarawa State in the 2023 Governorship election.

The two parties adopted their final Written Addresses at the today’s sitting 14th September, 2023.

The Petitioners’ legal team led by Kanu Agabi SAN, Joe-Kyari Gadzama SAN, A. A. Ibrahim SAN and Mela Nunghe SAN in making their arguments referred the Court to the unchallenged overwhelming evidence before the Tribunal which make it evident that Dr. Ombugadu actually won the majority of lawful votes at the election and should be declared as the Governor of Nasarawa State.

After listening to the respective Senior Counsel for all the Parties, the Tribunal reserved its Judgment and indicated that the date for delivery of Judgment will be communicated to the Parties.

Recalls that David Ombugado of the opposition People Democratic party (PDP) had challenge the declaration of governor Abdullahi Sule on the 18 March 2023 governorship.
