Mr. Ogu, gave this warning to African business community in Yiwu, Zhejiang province,
during the end of the year ceremony by the community.

In a statement, the Nigerian diplomat, encouraged the African community in Yiwu to learn and adopt the best practices and experiences in their host city in China and ensure that quality and best products are exported to their individual African countries to contribute to the development of the respective economy.

This is as the Nigerian Envoy appealed to the Chinese authorities to reconsider the high tariff imposed on agricultural export products to China.

This was in response to the question on the inability of Nigeria to export and trade agricultural produce from Nigeria to China.

Ogu, made this call during the global digital expo conference in Hangzhou, in Zhejiang province.

The consul General also encourage them to be good ambassadors in their host city, as representatives of African cultures.

Mr. Ogu, tasked Africans in Yiwu province to live harmoniously with their host communities.

The occasion offered opportunity for the Nigerian representatives in Shanghai to convene a meeting of Nigerians doing business in Yiwu at the sideline of the event.

He noted that Nigeria is disadvantaged because of the Chinese authorities classification of Nigeria as a developed economy and as such imposed more than two digits taxation on goods and products from the country.

He said that this regime of tariff should be revisited by the Chinese central government in Beijing to allow the Nigerian businessmen and their Chinese partners to participate in the new Chinese global digital economic promotion.
