The Nigerian Tourism Development Authority (NTDA) celebrated the outgoing Director-General, Chief Folorunsho Coker, in a grand send forth ceremony at the Authority’s Village Hall on Tuesday. The event honored Coker’s remarkable leadership and numerous achievements during his eight-year tenure, which witnessed significant transformations in Nigeria’s tourism landscape.
Staff and management paid tribute to Coker’s visionary leadership, highlighting his notable accomplishments, among which were: Transformation of NTDC to NTDA, by enacting the NTDA Act, which transformed the Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation (NTDC) into the NTDA; ISO standardization certification, which resulted into the ongoing ISO standardization certification to enhance service quality; The successful launch of the Tour Nigeria brand, which has been promoting domestic tourism and; The expansion of the Authority’s organogram, creating more employment opportunities.
He therefore advised the management and staff of the Authority not to relent in their efforts to move the NTDA to the expected level, which if done, according to him will go a long way.
Coker’s leadership has been instrumental in promoting Nigeria’s tourism industry, showcasing the country’s rich cultural heritage and natural beauty. His efforts have contributed significantly to the growth of Nigeria’s tourism sector, making it a vital part of the country’s economy.
As Coker bids farewell to the NTDA, his legacy will continue to shape the future of Nigeria’s tourism industry.
