The Nigerian Tourism Development Authority (NTDA) has unveiled its latest initiative, “Naija Flavour… Destination December 2025”, a cultural and tourism extravaganza aimed at showcasing the country’s rich heritage and driving economic growth.

The event, which took place at the Monoliza Abuja, was graced by the Honourable Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism and the Creative Economy, Directors-General and Chief Executives, Senior Officials from the Ministry, and other distinguished stakeholders in the tourism and creative industry.

In his speech, the Director-General of NTDA, Ola Awakan, stated that the initiative was conceptualized to generate wealth, empower local businesses, strengthen the creative economy, and build a tourism experience that sustains itself and stimulates national growth.

“Naija Flavour is not just a program; it is a celebration of our culture, vibrancy, and the growing power of tourism as an economic driver under the administration of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR,” Awakan said.

The event will feature a marketplace of culture, entrepreneurship, food, fashion, games, musical concert, and live theatre, and is expected to attract businesses, SMEs, and tourists from across the globe.

Awakan highlighted that the initiative is part of the government’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which emphasizes economic growth, creative industry expansion, SME development, and sustainable value creation.

The DG also announced the theatrical production, “Echoes of the Drums”, which will be performed on December 13, 2025, at the event.

The production is a celebration of communal life, unity, eco-tourism, spirituality, supernatural folklore, and Nigeria’s rich ancestral heritage.

Awakan expressed gratitude to the partnering institutions, including The Monoliza Abuja, National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism (NIHOTOUR), National Troupe of Nigeria, Centre for Black and African Arts and Civilization (CBAAC), National Film and Video Censors Board, and The Guild of Theatre Arts Drummers (GOTHAD).

He encouraged Nigerians and visitors to save the date and experience the country’s rich cultural heritage.

The event is expected to promote tourism, generate income, sustain jobs, and promote national pride.
