The Speaker of the House of Representatives Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, has congratulated the Emir of Zazzau, His Royal Highness, Amb. Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, on the conferment of a Doctorate Degree in Public Affairs (Honoris Causa) on him by the Western Delta University, Oghara, Delta State.
In a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Musa Abdullahi Krishi, the speaker, said, the monarch has contributed immensely to the affairs of not just Zazzau Emirate and Kaduna State, but the entire country.
Rt. Hon. Abas, who represents Zaria Federal Constituency of Kaduna State at the House, also noted that Emir Bamalli’s honorary degree is well-deserved.
The Speaker, who holds the traditional title of Iyan Zazzau, in the Zazzau Emirate, said it was not surprising that Emir Bamalli is being honoured by a university in Delta State, noting that the honour, further confirms the elder statesmanship status of the Emir.
Speaker Abbas, while commending the Western Delta University for honouring the Emir of Zazzau, said the honour would encourage him to further unite Nigerians across ethnic and religious lines.
He noted that the honour being bestowed on the Emir, signifies reward for patriotism and good leadership, as well as pursuit of peace and unity in the country.
Wishing Emir Bamalli well, the Speaker, encouraged him to continue to play the fatherly role he has been playing among his people and beyond.
