Abuja

The Principal Partner, Friends Chambers, Abuja and Nnewi, Prince Orji Nwafor – Orizu has not only advised Anambra All Progressives Congress (APC) members to support the appointment of the wife of late Dim Chukwuemeke Odumegwu Ojukwu, Bianca, but also hailed Mr President for her appointment as the new minister of state, Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs, even as he advised them to take the appointment as a blessing and solace to the party in Anambra and the state in general.

Bianca Ojukwu is one of the newly appointed and inaugurated ministers by Mr President, who assigned her to the Federal Minister of Foreign Affair (FMFA) as its Minister of State, an appointment some members of the Anambra APC kicked against, saying they were not consulted, before it was made.

The constitutional lawyer addressed journalists Tuesday in his chambers in Abuja the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Making his points, he said the appointment will not only give a solace to the party members in the state, but also to the state in general, even as he added that her credentials and pedigree showed that she will perform wonderfully well.

Urging the APC members in the state to give her all the needed supports, as well as telling them that the way they have been going about it would make one attempt to say that they don’t know the rules of presidential system of government. He said that the president is neither bound to pick only the APC members nor inform them, before he picks who he chooses to work with him, even as he pointed out that the holder of the most elective officer in her party, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe didn’t only adopt her, but also give her all the required support on the floor of the senate.

Hailing Mr President for picking up Mrs Ojukwu for the work, the Nnewi in Anambra – born prince, however said that Bianca must be understood from her background to represent interests, including women representation and political reconciliation, with the hard core Igbo people (Ndigbo), represented by her husband Emeka Ojukwu.

Still urging Anambra APC members to support Mrs Bianca Ojukwu, he said that Mr President had earlier moved from the APC in Rivers to appoint Barr Nyesom Wike from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), adding that there is no guarantee that all the present ministers are from the APC.

Speaking further, she had this to say: “I agree that there is nothing wrong in consulting APC leadership and stakeholders before any appointment is made, but the most important thing to know is that, such consultation is not done by all the party members. He also asked, how are people sure that some stakeholders of the Anambra APC were not consulted?”

He continued: “The CV reeled out by Bianca on the floor of the senate showed that she is a diplomat per excellence, having been: Nigeria’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Spain; a representative of Nigeria in the UN World Tourism Organization, who was awarded the best African Ambassador in Spain. She is a lawyer by training and the daughter of former Governor C.C Onoh (late) of the old Anambra State and the wife of the former military governor of the then Eastern Region (River, Akwa Ibom, Cross Rivers, Enugu, Anambra, Abia, Imo and Ebonyi States, late Chief Chukwuemeke Odumegwu – Ojukwu.”

Recalled that in a press interview with journalists after her screening, she promised to use her new office to maintain good relationship with foreign countries, even as she added that there is the need to appoint new women in the cabinet, for all the hands to be on deck to help those in authority to move the economy forward.
