The executives of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Dawakin Tofa Local Government and the Ganduje Ward Executive Committee members in Kano State on dismissed as null and void the purported suspension of Abdullahi Umar Ganduje from the ruling party.

The executives in a joint statement signed by Alhaji Ahmed Mohammed Koko, Chairman of APC Ganduje Ward said the purported suspension of the National Chairman of the party, explained that announcement was or orchestrated by non-APC members in the ward.

Addressing a press conference in Kano on behalf of the Ward and Local Government Executive Committee Members, he said: “Those who addressed the press conference were sponsored by the NNPP state government, and from the record of the Party at the Ward, Local Government and State, they are not card- carrying members of the APC”.

He threatened to institute a legal action against the impersonators, stressing that the purported suspension was null and void and would have no effect on the National Chairman.

“The Ward and Local Government Executives, having identified the persons involved in this unfortunate situation, have already prepared to charge them to court for impersonation and calculated attempts to embarrass and dent the image of the Party and that of the National Chairman”.

He called on all Party members to disregard the purported suspension and remain calm.

It could be recalled that Malam Haladu Gwanjo, who claimed to be the Legal Adviser of APC in Ganduje Ward, had earlier announced the purported suspension of the party’s national chairman.

Gwanjo, who cited alleged corruption and other vices as reasons for the suspension, said that the decision was taken by nine executive members of party in Ganduje ward.
