Late Monsignor Professor Johnbosco Akam who birthed the idea of establishing Tansian University was a brilliant scholar who stood tall as an embodiment of knowledge and in fact an “intellectual authority” well admiired by those who are interested in knowledge. The late Monsignor Akam was very popular both as a priest and as a brilliant scholar with high capacity intellectual prowes and rhethorical sagacity which endeared him to people. People listen with rapt attention whenever Monsignor Akam speaks.
Parading the above qualities as a priest of the Catholic Church, the late Monsignor approached Chief Rommy Ezeonwuka who is the Proprietor of Rojeny Games Village Oba with a proposal to establish a University to be named after a Catholic priest known as Rev Fr Cyprain Iwene Tansi. Mere looking at the background and qualities of the Monsignor, Ezeonwuka who is a hardline admirer of Fr Tansi accepted the proposal with all pleasure. Consequently Monsignor and Ezeonwuka then agreed that the University should be known and called Tansian University This was how the journey of Tansian University started.

The next port of call was where the University would be sited and the money to bring it to reality. Ezeonwuka started to rally round and invited his friends to come into the deal of establishing a University. While some of his friends declined, one Nze Raph Obiora accepted to join hands in the making of the University. Incidentally Nze Obiora is a native of Uga where Monsignor Akam also hails from. More so Ezeonwuka is from Akpo town closely in neighborhood to Uga. Akpo and Uga all in Aguata Local Government Area.
In addition to close native background, Monsignor, Ezeonwuka and Nze Obiora are Catholic. Nze Obiora is a Knight of the Church in the order of Knight of St John International. Upon the above smooth background both Monsignor Akam, Ezeonwuka and Nze Obiora tested Monsignor Akam and agreed to work as co owners of the University without fear of betrayal, without suspicious of foul play or duplicity of any sort because common sense makes it clear that the business of establishing Tansian University by Monsignor Akam, Ezeonwuka and Nze Obiora was under a genuine arrangements.
Consequently Ezeonwuka and Nze Obiora moved into action to mobilize what it takes to start the University. Ezeonwuka brought his property which include Rojeny Games Village Oba and the site of Ranent industry also situated in Oba. Both Rojeny Games Village and Ranent industry are worth billions of naira.
Incidentally the National University Commission (NUC) advised Ezeonwuka against using Rojeny Games village as a University campus because of International football engagements. Following the advice, Ezeonwuka withdrew Rojeny Games village from the process of the University and the only site of Ranent industry was then available to serve as take off campus for the new brand University called Tansian University.
However, the site of Ranent industry is worth about N2biillion but a portion of it was used as collateral to obtain loan of N14million at a bank by Ezeonwuka. Consequently the NUC demanded that a place to serve as a University campus must be free from financial encumbrance, At this point Monsignor Akam had to source for N14million to free the take off campus from encumbrance.
Never minding the trust reposed on him by Ezeonwuka and Nze Obiora and the effort and money Ezeonwuka and Nze Obiora put into the University, Monsignor Akam suddenly claimed that he is the sole owner of Tansian University. Under the above background story of the birth of Tansian University the claim by Monsignor Akam that he is the sole owner of the Tansian University raised many questions.
The questions
(1) Would Ezeonwuka as a businessman volunteerily release his business establishment worth billions of naira like Rojeny Games village and Ranent industry for free to Monsignor Akam?
(2)Would Ezeonwuka have released his billions of naira worth property if there was no aggreement between him and Monsignor Akam that both of them are co owners of the University?
(3) Did Monsignor Akam abinitio told Ezeonwuka that he wants Ezeonwuka to just make donation for the establish of the University and not to be part of the owner of the University?
(4) How on earth could a N2biillion worth property be bought with just N14million?
(5) Why did the Comminttee set up by the NUC to look into the matter decide that the take off campus at Oba belongs to Ezeonwuka if there was no evidence that the property belongs to him?
The correct answers to the above questions simply make the record straight and clear that Ezeonwuka did not donate the site of Ranent industry to Monsignor Akam for the establishment of Tansian University and that Monsignor Akam did not in any way buy the site of Ranent industry from Ezeonwuka. Any claim by anybody that the take off campus of Tansian University situated on the property of Ranent industry amount to a pure act of lies and betrayal. It is therefore very uncalled for that someone who calls himself a lawyer should suddenly wade into the matter to defend lies and betrayal.
A lawyer has the right to do his professional work but let him take note that no good minded lawyer will devote his time and energy to defend lies and betrayal.
