The founder/CEO of Oga Ndi Oga Foundation, a popular charity and mass movement group in Anambra State, High Chief Godwin Agbasimelo has observed that the major factor behind the current economic hardship is that the rich are not doing enough to alleviate the suffering of the poor such that the rich are not doing much to bridge the gap with the poor by creating opportunities for the poor to unleash and realise their potentials such as doing new things, starting business, organising functions and to be part of the corridors of power.

Speaking to journalists on the set goals of Oga Ndi Oga Foundation, the Ezinifite in Nnewi South born High Chief firstly lamented that the rich is rather widening the gap with the poor as they use their money to block the poor instead of using their money to open opportunities for the poor noting with dismay that the rich have continued to use money to block the poor from gaining access to opportunities economically, economically and the worst of all politically.

According to him the rich have turned the society into money driven to the point that the poor cannot run things anymore. Hear him “we have a situation where poor people no longer have opportunity to open business, to start up things, only the rich are opening business here and there. The poor cannot organise social functions like birthdays, weddings and the worst of all, the poor have no access to the corridor of power even at the ward and local government levels where they mostly belong

He said that Oga Ndi Oga is out to reverse the ugly tide by lending helping hand to the poor to get on their feat and be in stronger position to respond to the challenges of lack of things, lack of access and lack of opportunities socially, economically and politically adding that the Oga Ndi Oga is after how the poor should be able to foot what it takes to start business, do new things, hold birthdays, weddings and most importantly gain access to the corridor of power at the ward and local government levels.

Elaborating on the set goals he said that the Foundation and its partners have been helping people to start something doing, to do new things and will continue to assist members to hold and enjoy their birthdays, wedding and also empower the poor to seek opportunities to get into the corridor of power hinting that the Foundation has set Agenda to mobilise one million eligible voters to participate in the next governorship in Anambra State by 2025.

While calling on the rich to endeavour to find possible ways and means to lend supporting hands to the poor he also called on the people mostly in the rural and urban areas in Anambra State to queue behind the One Million Man Oga Ndi Oga Agenda so as to be ready to make much more possible impact in the field when the time comes.
