UNN Student Crowned Ada Ogidi Beauty Queen: A Celebration of Talent and Inspiration for Girls

It is was a moment of glamour, limelight, entertainment, excitement, praises, inspiration, offers, opportunity, favor and hope from prominent personalities at Ogidi during the 2024/25 edition of Ada Ogidi Beauty Pageant held at Leophine Residency Hotel ,Ogidi with a 300 level student of University of Nigeria Nsukka, studying Biochemistry Miss Mmesoma Okoye coasting home to victory after deafening other contestants. The beauty show which had 9 contestants from 9 villages in Ogidi saw Miss Worship Strongson came second while Miss AdaChukwu Echezona came third.

Our correspondent who was at the venue reports that the girls were exposed to the limelight of Ogidi as prominent people in town not only graced the beauty show butt also impsired the girls with offers, opportunities, favor and hope of a brighter future with provision of material gifts, support in cash and offering of university scholarship among other things that brought smiles and hope to the participants in particular and the girl child in town in general.

Among personalities that graced the event include former Special Adviser on Science & Technology to Ex President George Bush of United States who is also the founder/CEO VITEL Wireless and Ajie Okpala Ogidi, High Chief Engr Emeka Ken Nwabueze, the CEO Erason Oil High Chief Obi Mbaekwe (Isimili Ogidi), High Chief Aneto Okakpu all the way from United States, Mrs Nonye Nwasike also from United States who is a Director of Black Pumps, a Non Governmental Organisation (NGO) with emphasis on empowering widows and the CEO Stay Safe Safe Logistics Engr C.J Okafor among others.

Top of the bill from the prominent personalities was material gift from Dr Chris Nwangwu, Eze Ndigbo in Holland who provided gold, silver and bronze trophies for the first, second and third positions in the contest, cash support offered by the following names which include High Chief Emeka Ken Nwabueze, High Chief Aneto Okakpu, Mrs Nonye Nwasike and University scholarship offered by Engr Chijioke Okafor who in addition to offering cash support announced that any girl who made up to 200 mark in JAMB will be offered scholarship to study the course of her choice at Amadeus University located at Obizi, Abia State.

As expected prices were won with the winner taking home a sun of N700, O00 and Gold trophy while the second and third placed contestants also smiled home with N150, 000 each along with a silver and a bronze trophies respectively. According to the organisers, as part of the opportunities offered by the beauty show, the winner along with the second and third runners up are entitled to visit the palace of the traditional rulers of Ogidi His Royal Majesty Igwe Pharm. Alex Onyido during which they will receive Royal Blessings from His Majesty.

In his address the Founder of the beauty show, Mr Chudi Nwabueze who is the MD Ebeonadi FM Ogidi expressed joy that the beauty show is moving higher courtesy of the solid support being provided by the people of Ogidi noting that the organisers led by renowned Master of Ceremony Mr Jude Nwabueze alias MC Hamathan have continued to live up to expectations with more value added to the annual contest courtesy of the support being providee by Ogidi people most especially the Royal support from the traditional ruler.

According to him, “When we started in 2016 we had two sponsors which include: Ebeonadi FM and Leophine Residency Hotel but today we have got more sponsors which include.Kemchuta Homes Ltd Lagos,

Castro international Ltd Holland, SVA Properties Ltd Abuja and Socam Properties Abuja. So I am very excited that things are working and let me announce that we are going to increase the prices due to be won by participants by next year by the Grace of God.
