No fewer than 12 marketing companies at the weekend defended their submissions to handle campaigns of the National Orientation Agency (NOA) and National Lifestyle Charter.

The National Lifestyle Charter encompasses the Agency’s effort to codify the values of the nation under two categories, namely the Nigerian Promise and the Citizens Code.

The Nigerian Promise encapsulates the irreducible obligation of every government to the citizens, irrespective of party or where the leader comes from, while the citizens code is a corresponding duty of the citizen to the nation.

The evaluation and selection process, which took place at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja, was overseen by a panel led by former Director General of National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), Danladi Bako.

Other members of the panel include Alhaji Raheem Adedoyin of the International Press Institute (IPI) and Chido Nwakanma, a marketing specialist.

The companies were evaluated on the basis of past work, membership of relevant professional bodies, size and quality of team and demonstrable creative capacity, among others.

Director General of NOA, Mallam Lanre Issa Onilu, who flagged off the process, spoke about the vision of the new management in the Agency and the need for a sustainable platform for citizen engagement.

For him, the selected company will complement the Agency’s effort in engaging with the citizens on the programmes of government.

The marketing firms made submissions within the coverage areas of the Agency’s CLHEEAN community projects which include crime, Lawlessness, Health, Environment, Education, Abuse and Narcotics.
