What transpired at Nteje the Oyi Local Government Headquarters on 16th March, 2024 has been utterly described as a bold statement that the Senator representing Anambra-North senatorial district at the National Assembly is in trouble because Soludo Ambassadors have conquered his constituency.

Anambra-North comprising seven local government areas have all endorsed Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo for a second term in office and also declared no vacancy in 2025 because of the wonders the Soludo administration performed in the senatorial district.

Although grapevine information has it that Tony Nwoye who is currently the Senator representing Anambra-North in the Senate is rooting seriously to replace Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo in 2025 but the mega zonal rally organised by Soludo Ambassadors has shown that the Senator is building castle in the air because Anambra-North have unanimously agreed that he is going nowhere; that Soludo will complete his 8 years in office.

The mega zonal rally which had in attendance Speaker of the House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Nkemakonam Udeze, the Commissioner for Local Government Hon. Tonycollins Nwabunwanne, the Commissioner for Transport Hon. Patricia Igwebuike, the Commissioner for Petroleum Hon. Barr. Tony Ifeanya, Special Adviser on Political Matters Dr. Alex Obiogbolu, the Commissioner for Youths Hon. Patrick Aghadinuno Mba, the APGA Zonal Chairman (North), Igwe Ben Emeka, Okebo ii of Umueri, Igwe Awkuzu, TC Chairman Oyi LGA, Ojicam Member House of Assembly amongst others, was an open declaration that the ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has rewritten the ugly narratives of bad governance in Anambra State.

The Speaker Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Nkemakonam Udeze in his remarks underscored Soludo’s efforts in road infrastructure, water provision, community development and what have you, saying that Soludo’s administration is phenomenal.

National Convener Soludo Ambassadors and MD/CEO Awka Capital Territory Development Authority (ACTDA) Hon. Osita David Onuko, said they have conducted the rally in Anambra-Central and Anambra-South senatorial zones respectively. That they were in Anambra-North to make a bold and declarative statement that Soludo is delivering dividends of democracy to the people without thinking of the next election.

Onuko recalled that Soludo began his official assignment in Okpoko Anambra-North area. He said today Soludo has regenerated and revived the popular slum called Okpoko. That the place now has streetlights, schools, hospitals as well as portable drinking water.

Onuko also noted that Awka was a dead capital before Soludo came on board but currently Awka according to him, will house the biggest recreation facility in West Africa called the Solution Fun City. He also informed that the Soludo administration is ending the era of schools without teachers by employing 5000 teachers; reviving healthcare such that pregnant women now delivered their babies free of charge in all government hospitals.

That the governor empowered youths with skills and dissuaded them from illicit drugs and unwholesome lifestyles.

Special Adviser to Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo on Political Matters Dr. Alex Obiogbolu, said he was delighted to be amongst one of the greatest support groups of the present administration.

Obiogbolu said Governor Soludo promised disruptive change and today, Ogbaru, Onitsha-South, Awka-South, Aguata, Nnewi-North and others are witnessing disruptive change. That 7 out of the 9 local governments under siege have been redeemed from unknown gunmen.

The governor’s political adviser who said that he has been in Anambra politics for 32 years now, maintained that he has not seen any administration that delivered 247 kilometers of roads in two years even as some couldn’t deliver 80 kilometers in 8 years. That 470 kilometers of roads were awarded and 247 ready for commissioning.

In water, Obiogbolu noted that Awka, Onitsha, Nnewi, Ogbaru and some other local governments have not seen water for decades but today, according to him, water is running in Awka and other places across the state.

In education, Obiogbolu said the Soludo administration has offered free education in primary schools up to junior secondary. He said the governor recently gave 2000 laptops to teachers, head teachers, adding that the governor has also trained about 20,000 persons in digital skills.

That the governor has employed 5000 teachers and concluded arrangements to employ another 3000 teachers coupled with refurbishments and rehabilitation of schools across Anambra State. He said Governor Soludo has built 5 new general hospitals in Anambra-North Senatorial Zone.

Meanwhile the Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Community Affairs, Hon. Tonycollins Nwabunwanne, corroborated what other speakers said, declaring that Anambra-North has settled for Soludo and there is no vacancy in the Government House come 2025.

Also Oyi Local Government Chairman, Hon. Emmanuel Nweke, said the only way Ndi-Anambra could reward Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo for his good deeds was to root for his reelection in 2025.

Nweke who emphasized that opposition elements may hype whatever they liked in the social media but the truth remains that there is no vacancy in 2025 because Soludo will proceed this second term. (Independent)
