The state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the arrest to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) during an interview on Wednesday, 29 May, 2024.

Hundeyin said that the mother of the baby, whose name was not mentioned, reported the case at the Elere Police Division on Monday, 27 May, 2024 at about 2.30p.m.

According to police image-maker, the mother of the baby reported that at about 7.00a.m. on Saturday, 26 May, 2024 while she was sleeping at home with her baby, Blessing allegedly stole her child and went away.

Hundeyin said that the suspect after stealing the child allegedly went to church to give testimony of giving birth to the baby.

The police spokesperson, who said that the suspect was later traced to the Agbotikuyo area in Agege where the baby was recovered from her, added that an investigation was ongoing on the case.
