Former President Muhammadu Buhari has paid a sympathy visit to Jigawa State purposely to console with govt and people of jigawa state over the recent Majiya tanker explusion reassuring that the federal government would provide necessary support to Jigawa State, ensuring that the victims’ families receive adequate assistance and care.
Upon arrival, President Buhari visited the Rasheed Shekoni Specialist Hospital in Dutse, to meet with the surviving patients receiving treatment.
The ex-President expressed sadness over the loss of lives and offered words of encouragement to those recovering.
During his hospital visit, President Buhari donated N10 million to support the victims and their families.
The visit, held on Tuesday, demonstrated President Buhari’s commitment to standing with Nigerians in times of crisis. His presence brought comfort to the bereaved families and the people of Jigawa State.
Receiving the former president to jigawa govt house, the jigawa state Acting Governor Aminu Usman Gumel who warmly received the former President unbehalf of the Governor thanked him (Buhari) for the visit and the donation.made by him, assuring the funds would be used judiciously.
“Your presence underscored the unity and support for the people of Jigawa State,” he stressed.
The Acting Governor Engr. Gumel also praised President Buhari’s leadership and empathy, saying, “Your visit has brought hope and solace to our people in this difficult time.”
He assured that the state government would work tirelessly to prevent similar tragedies.
Notable figures accompanied ex-President Buhari, includes former Minister of Aviation Hadi Sirika, former Minister of Communication and Digital Economy Ali Pantami, Former SGF Boss Mustapha among others.
Recalled that the recent Majiya tanker inferno has claimed the lives of over 182 people and left many more injured in Majia, Taura Local Government Area of jigawa state.
