“In today’s increasingly complex and high-risk energy sector, crisis management is a critical competency. The ability to implement a deployment-ready crisis management plan and ensure key personnel are equipped to activate it can mean the difference between business recovery and total failure”, said Iyabo Ayobami-Ojo, Director, NNPC Academy, adding that with mounting operational challenges, industry leaders and professionals must be prepared to handle crises effectively.

The Masterclass aims to equip delegates with deep expertise in crisis management, sharpening their ability to navigate escalating situations with strategic precision. Participants will explore stakeholder dynamics, uncovering ways to align diverse interests and drive cooperation for swift resolution, recovery, and business continuity.

“The Nigeria International Energy Summit (NIES) is committed to equipping energy professionals with the expertise needed to navigate an increasingly complex industry landscape. This crisis management masterclass, in collaboration with NNPC Academy, will provide invaluable skills to ensure strategic crisis response within the sector”, said Kunle Odusola-Stevenson, Conference Producer, NIES 2025.

Through immersive role-play, they will refine crisis communication skills tailored to the high-risk energy sector. Hands-on scenario training will empower key operatives to develop actionable response templates and tools, ensuring readiness for real-world crises.

“This Masterclass offers a rare opportunity for energy industry professionals to upskill, strengthen their crisis response capabilities, and ensure organizational resilience in an unpredictable operating environment”, said Adedayo Ojo, Founder, Caritas Communications, facilitators of the masterclass.

The Masterclass is designed for Safety and environment managers and risk management professionals; Personnel in roles critical to incident and crisis management; Functional operatives in safety, security, and human resources responsible for stakeholder management; Communication professionals handling government relations, employee communication, media, and community affairs; Field operatives in remote facilities and high-risk stations amongst others

The 3-day Masterclass will take place between 26th – 28th February 2025 on the sidelines of NIES 2025 at the Continental Hotel, Abuja.

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Academy is the training and capacity-building arm of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company, committed to enhancing industry knowledge and professional expertise in the energy sector.
