The shocking find has sparked widespread panic among residents, plunging villages into a nightmare of fear and uncertainty.

Gruesome Discovery Shakes Odigbo to Its Core

The chilling discovery was made on Sunday by horrified locals, including one body that had already decomposed on the riverbank, sending waves of revulsion through the area. Eyewitnesses suspect foul play, believing the victims were brutally slaughtered by unknown perpetrators—possibly kidnappers—and disposed of in the river to hide the atrocity.

“Our Community Is Under Siege!”

A youth leader, Shileola, expressed outrage and despair at the horrific scene. “It’s terrifying. I rushed to identify the victims, but their condition made it impossible. I believe these innocent souls were murdered somewhere else and dumped here,” he shared, emphasizing the urgent need for residents to heighten their vigilance.

Police Launch Investigation: The Mystery Deepens

The Ondo State Police Command has confirmed the grisly find. Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Olayinka Ayanlade revealed that detectives recovered the bodies and transported them to a morgue at the General Hospital. Despite efforts to identify the victims, their identities remain shrouded in mystery, leaving the community restless and demanding answers.

River of Death: Is Odigbo Becoming a Dumping Ground for Heinous Crimes?

Authorities believe the ghastly crime may not have originated locally, indicating possible involvement of cross-border criminals from neighboring states like Ogun or Edo. The river’s currents may have carried the bodies into the community, leaving behind chilling evidence of unthinkable acts.

Residents and Leaders Unite Against Fear

As the grim tale unravels, locals are calling for stronger security measures to safeguard their lives and livelihoods. The community’s outrage is palpable as fear spreads like wildfire, overshadowing the once peaceful region.

This blood-chilling mystery has not only rocked Odigbo but also sent shockwaves across neighboring towns. Who were these victims, and who committed such a gruesome act? The answers remain buried in the depths of the murky river waters.
