*Assures candidate chosen by the Movement will coast home to victory

By Toby Chuks

Ahead of the November 8, 2025 governorship election in Anambra State a renowned grassroots group in the State popularly known as Oga Ndi Oga Movement has set the criteria for chosen a candidate that its numerous members across the 326 wards in the State will cast their vote for at the polling booths come November 8 with a list of what the Movement would want their chosen candidate to do when elected as Governor to take up the mantle leadership at the government house in Agu Awka.

Top of the list according to the Founder/CEO of the Movement High Chief Godwin Agbasimelo in a press briefing at Awka include lighting up Anambra with steady power supply and with street light all over the place as obtainable in the neighborhood States like Delta and Abia State. Other thing in the wish list of the Movement is that the candidate when elected will embark on sport development and then bridge the gap of development with rural dwellers with industrial projects in rural areas.

Speaking emphatically that the candidate that must meet the criteria, Agbasimelo observed that Anambra is currently lagging behind some States in the areas of power supply, sport and industrialization owing to poor leadership insisting that the next governor must ensure steady power supply using alternative means like solar energy, embark on sport development with revival of school sport and sponsoring competitions in various fields of sport and then delve into industrial projects in rural areas to bridge the gap of development in all parts of the State.

He lamented “At this age Anambra is living in darkness, why not go to China to get solar power supply to light up the street of Anambra State. At this age Anambra is lagging behind in sport development to the point that Anambra is missing in top flight sport in Nigeria including the fact that we don’t have a top flight football team in Anambra. At this age industries are collapsing in Anambra State. At a time we suppose to be rooting up more industries the existing ones are collapsing. What a shame.

He maintained that any candidate to be chosen by the Movement must show good plans to improve on steady power supply, move Anambra to top flight sport in Nigeria and facilitate at least three industrial projects in each of the three Senatorial zones in the State noting for instance that an industrial agriculture project mounted in any part of Anambra South Senatorial District will improve on the economy of Anambra at large, make jobs available and change the narrative of development in the Senatorial District forever.

Pointing out that the list is in addition to security, road construction, good health care and quality education among other basic needs like water supply, he assured that any candidate chosen by Oga Ndi Oga Movement is sure of coasting home to victory because according to him, the Movement can boost the chances of their candidate for winning the election with the numerical strength required to deliver the candidate in each of the polling booth all over the State come November 8, 2025
