…A Landmark Achievement Aligned with NIMC’s Core Mandate

The Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF) has approved the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) Scheme of Service — a significant milestone and the first of its kind for the Commission.

This landmark approval is a testament to the far-reaching reforms being driven by NIMC’s Director General/CEO, Engr (Dr) Abisoye Coker-Odusote. It reflects her strategic vision to reposition the Commission as a modern, efficient, and globally competitive institution.

According to a statement e-Signed by Kayode Adegoke, NIMC’s Head, Corporate Communications, the new Scheme of Service is anchored on her five-point agenda and a people-focused leadership approach that prioritises institutional excellence and human capital development in alignment with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

The approved Scheme provides a robust and comprehensive framework for the Commission’s operations, clearly defining staff cadres, promotion pathways, organisational structure, job functions, qualification requirements, and professional standards. It is fully aligned with Public Service Rules and international best practices for career progression and institutional growth.

At the formal presentation ceremony, Mr Imirhe Gabriel Nwagolo, Deputy Director, Scheme of Service, Organisational Design Department at the OHCSF, commended NIMC for its commitment to excellence. He noted that the Commission is among a select few federal agencies to successfully secure approval for a dedicated Scheme of Service.

In her remarks, the DG/CEO, represented by Mrs Rhoda Jackden, Head of Human Capital Management, expressed profound appreciation to the OHCSF for the approval. She described the development as “a laudable and significant milestone” and reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to the full and effective implementation of the new Scheme.

The approved Scheme of Service introduces the new Enrolment, Card, and Commercial Cadres alongside existing ones.
