The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has formally petitioned the Attorney-General of the Federation and the Inspector-General of Police to investigate and prosecute Fuji musician King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate, following a disruptive incident on a ValueJet domestic flight on August 5, 2025.
According to a statement signed by Michael Achimugu, Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, the musician allegedly violated Nigerian Civil Aviation Regulations during the ValueJet flight VK201, disrupting standard flight operations and raising serious concerns over passenger conduct and airline safety protocols.
The incident reportedly involved K1 De Ultimate attempting to board with prohibited liquid, refusing to comply with security warnings, and ultimately obstructing the aircraft on the tarmac, preventing its movement.
The conduct prompted the NCAA to call for a comprehensive criminal investigation and prosecution in line with the Nigeria Civil Aviation Regulations (2023) and other relevant laws.
In addition, Capt. Chris Najomo, Director General of Civil Aviation, has advised the Airline Operators of Nigeria to immediately place K1 De Ultimate on a No-Fly List for commercial flights, pending the investigation outcome.
The measure, the agency said, aligns with global aviation safety standards aimed at protecting passengers, crew, and airline operations.
The NCAA emphasized that all passengers, regardless of status or public prominence, must comply with aviation safety standards and that disruptive or dangerous behavior will be dealt with strictly to preserve the integrity of Nigeria’s aviation industry.
