By Ekuson Nw’Ogbunka, Abuja

Labour Party governorship candidate in Anambra State, Dr. George Moghalu, has said that the motive behind his contest to serve Anambra people is to effectively, tackle the state’s security, infrastructure, agriculture, and other pressing issues, if elected into office. During a courtesy visit by the League of Anambra Journalists in Abuja, Moghalu outlined his 12-point agenda, emphasizing good governance, accessibility, and transparency in leadership, among others.

On security, Moghalu criticized the current government’s handling, citing the alarming rate of kidnappings, killings, and cult wars. He proposed a multi-faceted approach, including technology, community policing, and collaboration with traditional institutions. He also suggested establishing a command and control center, installing CCTV cameras, and investing in intelligence gathering.

He however stressed the importance of investing in quality roads, citing examples of well-built roads by previous administrations. He pledged to offer alternatives and solutions, targeting to transform Anambra State and provide its citizens with good governance.

The governorship candidate emphasized the need for politicians to prioritize citizens’ welfare and build trust between the government and the people. “My mission in politics is to change the narrative,” he said, highlighting his approach to governance and security.

George Moghalu therefore spoke at length on the need for the people to make use of their votes wisely, for their interests, which if done, according to him, would go a long way for them and “our children.”
