Businessman Kinsley Chijioke Offor has made a heartfelt appeal to the Senate, Inspector General of Police (IGP), and relevant authorities to intervene in his ongoing ordeal with the Imo State Police Command, specifically the Tiger Base unit. According to Offor and his friend Felix Nwadike, who briefed journalists over the weekend in Abuja, the police unit allegedly raided Offor’s home on April 16, 2025, at 11 pm, breaking into six flats and making away with cash and valuables.

The police operation, led under CSP Ola, resulted in the theft of N13,500,000 cash from Offor’s apartment, a licensed pump-action gun, and various documents, including land deeds and vehicle documents. Other items taken, according to them, include two laptops and four power banks were taken from Dr. Valentine Nwugo’s flat
Cash of N1,880,000 was taken from Mrs. Nkechi Eze’s flat, and N200,000 cash was taken from Dr. Nwugo’s flat. Landed documents, motor documents, motorcycle documents, and shop documents were taken from Offor’s apartment

Additionally, Offor’s wife was whisked away to the police station and detained for several months without bail. The police also allegedly planted a loaded AK-47 rifle and another firearm in Offor’s apartment to incriminate him.

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Henry Okoye, condemned the alleged actions of the police officers, stating that they would face disciplinary action if found guilty. He assured that the matter would be thoroughly investigated and the personnel involved would be interrogated.

Offor’s family is demanding, a comprehensive investigation into the alleged raid and theft, return of the stolen cash, documents, and licensed pump-action gun, Offor’s freedom and protection from further harassment, conduction of a forensic test to determine the ownership of the AK-47 rifle.

Offor is seeking intervention from the Senate, IGP, and relevant authorities to enable him to be with his family, start his business, and have peace. He claims that the police’s actions are unjust and that he has been cooperating with the police, having previously assisted in tracking down a suspect.

According to Nwadike, Offor is a well-known businessman in Okigwe, dealing in foodstuffs and supplying to various institutions, including the Nigeria Correctional Service. The motive behind the police’s actions is unclear, but Offor suspects it may be related to his bail of a suspect accused of kidnapping. However, it was later discovered that the suspect was innocent, and the kidnapped children were found in Owerre West, hail, hearty and free.
