The member representing AMAC/Bwari Federal Constituency, Hon. Joshua Chinedu Obika, has demonstrated his commitment to grassroots empowerment by supporting the Ominya Initiative for Peace and Community Development (OIPCD). The initiative’s office launch and fundraising event, held at the AMAC Secretariat Extension in Abuja, brought together community leaders and development advocates [1].
In his keynote address, Hon. Obika commended the Founder and CEO of OIPCD, Amb. Honest Salihu Gode, for her dedication to peacebuilding and sustainable development. He pledged his office’s full partnership with OIPCD to achieve tangible impacts for the people of AMAC/Bwari.
To support OIPCD’s operational sustainability, Hon. Obika announced that he would pay the office receptionist’s monthly salary for a year, ensuring the initiative’s doors remain open. This move was welcomed by Amb. Gode, who expressed gratitude for Obika’s transformative leadership and inclusive approach.
Amb. Gode highlighted Obika’s practical support, stating that his leadership goes beyond rhetoric. The OIPCD aims to foster dialogue, empower youth and women, and implement projects enhancing socio-economic development in the Federal Capital Territory.
