Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have appealed to Hon. Joshua Chinedu Obika, a member of the House of Representatives, to return to the party. Obika, who represents the AMAC/Bwari Federal Constituency, had defected to the Labour Party.

At a press conference in Abuja, Comrade Abdulwahab Ekekhide, Secretary of the Geo-Political Zones State Chairmen, commended Obika’s legislative performance over the past two and a half years. Ekekhide highlighted Obika’s efforts in presenting bills aimed at developing FCT communities and empowering constituents.

“Hon. Obika is a prominent political figure in FCT, and APC is your home,” Ekekhide said. “You were once a member of our great party before joining the opposition Labour Party. We believe it is time for you to return and contribute to the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”

Former AMAC Vice Chairman and leader of the forum, Hon. Lawrence Onu Chukwu, emphasized the benefits APC members in FCT have received under the Tinubu administration, including ministerial appointments. Chukwu described Obika’s move to the Labour Party as a waste of his talent and capacity and urged him to return.

“Obika is not a stranger here; he belongs to APC,” Chukwu said. “The door is open for him to come back and continue contributing to the development of AMAC/Bwari and FCT at large.”

The APC forum also called on Obika to join other key leaders, including Senator Hope Uzodimma, Imo State Governor, and Rt. Hon. Ben Kalu, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, in advancing the party’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
